Barouqefest 2025 To Deliver Love, Loss, & Bedlam!

17 September, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Baroquefest will feature performances by renowned performers includubg The Marais Project, HIP Company, Russell Harcourt and Doublinszky & Price.

Baroquefest, Canowindra’s annual Barouque Music Festival, returns this weekend Friday 19 to Sunday 21 September for it’s tenth year.

This year’s program, artfully curated by Jenny Eriksson, will bring Love, Loss and Bedlam to Baroquefest! A series of five concerts by performers and ensembles from Sydney to Perth will feature the most varied program ever.

From the pre-baroque composers of Frescobaldi and Monteverdi, you will journey through Bach, Handel, the ‘Mad Songs’ of Henry Purcell, Swedish folk tunes, new works by modern Australian composers Alice Chance and Susie Bishop, and the merging of baroque harmony and counterpoint with the rhythmic energy, delightful unpredictability, and harmonic colours of jazz.

Festival President, Richard Statham said:

“We were delighted last year when Jenny Eriksson offered to prepare a program for this year’s festival. She knew exactly how to approach it having performed splendidly for us as The Marais Project and Elysian Fields in 2019.”

While the A Reserve tickets for all 5 concerts have already sold out, there are still B Reserve tickets for 4 concerts, including gourmet picnic box consisting of delicious delights served for lunch at Concert 2, Wild Iris (formerly Wallington Winery). Individual tickets for concerts 1,3 and 4 are also available, including:
