Given quality TripAdvisor ratings and reviews, Balloon Joy Flights has been honoured with an industry award.
Balloon Joy Flights has been recognised with TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Award 2021.
Jan and Graham Kerr have been operating year-round business with their team for 35 years, flying approximately 100 to 120 each year.
Jan Kerr said it’s a great honour to be recognised with such a prestigious award.
“Graham and I have a deep passion for hot air ballooning and tourism, so we love to share this joy with our customers. This award is very special as it shows we are delivering above expectation to a vast number of people,” Mrs Kerr said.
“It is a magical experience. As I say to people ‘I feel like I am not quite with God but no longer part of the Earth and I own everything in between’.”
TripAdvisor is one of the world’s largest travel platforms and congratulated the husband-wife team for their dedication and resilience.
“The Travellers’ Choice Award celebrates attractions that consistently deliver fantastic experiences to travellers around the globe. Winners like you earned positive reviews and ratings over the past year,” TripAdvisor offered in a statement to Jan and Graham.
“In this particularly challenging year, you stood out by providing great service and experiences to your guests. Thank you, and congratulations again on your well-deserved win.”
Balloon Joy Flight’s business is down by about 80% due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Mrs Kerr said a large percentage of their customers come from Greater Sydney and the Central Coast.
“This, of course, has a flow-on effect for providers, food outlets, petrol stations etc in town. We have been very strict with checking where our customers come from and that they comply with our COVIDsafe plan,” she said.
The Kerr’s look forward to taking to the skies again after lockdown ends; especially Jan and Graham’s son Anton, who is now Chief Pilot.
