The newly appointed Canowindra Challenge Incorporated Committee met for the first time on Monday night, bringing together a new group of people with fresh ideas and suggestions for the 2024 event.
Tom Beath has taken on the position as President, with balloonist Alan Joyce as Vice President. Annette Thomas, who has been a part of past balloon committees and brings a wealth of knowledge for the event, has been appointed the Secretary with Suze Clark as the Treasurer.
Alan and Kerry Joyce join the committee for next year’s event from the ballooning fraternity. “Our vision is to make the 2024 Canowindra Challenge Incorporated festival, one of fun, delight and full of entertainment,” Alan Joyce, Vice President, said.
“We want everyone to look to the sky and enjoy the sights of the balloons in the air and come to Canowindra for some good old fashioned fun and games too.”
The committee has taken on feedback from the community and as such will have extra activities in town, the ever popular street parade will have a few surprises and the Cabonne Balloon Glow will work with an extended program from the afternoon into the night.
Applications are now open for community groups who would like to participate throughout the event for catering in the mornings and afternoons and many other opportunities around Canowindra, to become involved. For businesses that would like to become involved, sponsorship opportunities are also available.
The dates for the 2024 Canowindra Balloon Challenge will be announced 1st August.
