Molong residents with Nationals Candidate for Calare, Sam Farraway at the funding announcement on Tuesday.
The Nationals Candidate for Calare, Sam Farraway, has announced an elected Coalition Government will commit $6 million for the construction of a multi-purpose centre and changerooms at Molong Showground.
Mr Farraway said the Molong Showground is a valued community asset, colocated with Molong golf, disc golf, tennis, hockey, bowls and other sporting and community facilities.
“The new multi-purpose centre and changerooms will make a huge difference to Molong and neighbouring communities,” Mr Farraway said.
“The centre will double as an emergency evacuation facility in times of crisis.
“This is about delivering the infrastructure our regions deserve — real, on the groundsupport that strengthens local communities and brings people together. Whether it’s a Saturday morning game of tennis, a bowls tournament, junior hockey, or hosting the agricultural show, these facilities are vital to the heart and soul of Molong.
“Regional towns thrive when locals have the opportunity to come together to play sport, to volunteer, and to connect. This the glue that binds our towns and supports mental health, youth engagement and community spirit. That’s why The Nationals will always back projects that build the social fabric of the bush.”
Mr Farraway said that only an elected Dutton-Littleproud Coalition Government can deliver the $6 million needed to get this project done.
“This is what delivering for the regions looks like — practical, common-sense investments that support our way of life and keep our country towns strong.”
Mr Farraway calls on Labor to match funding for the project so the people of Molong have certainty they will have this essential infrastructure for the future.
