There is nothing more Aussie than our fantastic pool lifeguards. Maisie Harrison, Harrison Warn and Samual Bullock welcome families to join them at the Canowindra Pool on Australia Day.
The Cabonne region is renowned for embracing all things Australian. From our surrounding bushland and National Parks, cooling water holes and creeks, abundant native flora and fauna and rich local history showing how far we have come as a Nation.
Surrounding Cabonne villages of Borenore, Nashdale, Cargo, Cumnock, Mullion Creek and Yeoval will kick off Australia Day 2023 with ceremonial breakfasts, community awards and official presentations.
Canowindra will follow, with Australia Day award presentations and cake cutting beginning at 1pm at the Canowindra Services Club. Following official proceeding, the annual Yabby races will be hotly contented. You can bring your own top athlete, or one can be supplied on the day. The club will also have a free jumping castle and the restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner.
The Canowindra Hotel will be open for breakfast from 8.30am, followed by a full Aussie Buffet Lunch, then kick back and relax at the Canowindra Golf Club with live music from 3pm.
The Canowindra pool will also be open from 10.30am to keep the kiddies cool, or take the arvo off and attempt your luck at catching a fish down by the river.
