The Annual Cabonne Acquisitive Art Prize has returned for 2021. It is an annual art prize and exhibition that aims to foster a sense of identity, pride and place in Cabonne whilst encouraging and showcasing the high calibre of creative talent in the region.
The winning artwork will be acquired by Cabonne Council and join Michael Carroll’s winning 2020 painting “Gordon’s Garden” in the Cabonne Council Art and Heritage Collection (to be established).
There are also two other categories that will capture the young artistic talents of the Cabonne area.
2021 Prizes:
• Cabonne Acquisitive Art Prize: $4,250 and Artwork acquired by Cabonne Council
• Cabonne Art Prize (Secondary School): 1st place $200; 2nd place $150; 3rd place $100
• Cabonne Art Prize (Primary School): 1st place $100; 2nd place $75; 3rd place $50
• People’s Choice Prize: $1,000
The art prizes are judged by industry professionals who are yet to be determined.
Applications opened on Friday 4th September and close on Friday 19th February 2021. Winners will be notified on Friday 12th March 2021 and an exhibition will be held from Sunday 27th March – Thursday 8th April 2021.
