Amazing Results For The HSC Class Of 2019!

19 December, 2019 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The Class of 2019 at Canowindra High School.

The long wait for the 2019 HSC results is finally over with their release on Tuesday 17th December.

“Our Year 12 students once again are to be congratulated on their performance with the majority of the students achieving their personal best in more than one subject. Across all seventeen subjects in which examinations were undertaken students achieved great results. Achievements in Biology, Legal Studies, Modern History, PDHPE and Metals and Engineering saw students receive multiple band 6’s or 5’s,” said Neryle Smurthwaite, Canowindra High School Principal. Special mention goes to former school captain Jamie Austin who achieved first place in the state in Metals and Engineering.

Congratulations to Jamie Austin from Canowindra High School who was awarded first in the State of NSW for HSC Metal and Engineering.

“This is a phenomenal result and one which is indicative of Jamie’s exceptional effort and dedication to his studies throughout the year. Jamie has also been recognised as a Top Achiever and Distinguished Achiever for his performance,” continued Mrs Smurthwaite.

Congratulations should also go to Chanse McLean and Hudson Izzard who were listed on the Distinguished Achievers list and achieved multiple band 6’s and band 5’s across the courses they studied.

Chanse McLean received a band 6 in Biology, Legal Studies and Modern History and Hudson Izzard received a band 6 in Biology and PDHPE.

Other students who performed well across their courses include Anika Macela, Ella Gruessing, Sarah Treavors, Wade Kinsela and Georgia Cole.

“The school is extremely pleased with the overall achievement of this wonderful group of students and wish them well in their future academic pursuits and career choices. It is also pleasing that all students who applied for early entry to university have been accepted and are already planning for their life beyond school,” said Mrs Smurthwaite.

“On behalf of the students and staff of Canowindra High School congratulations to everyone from the class of 2019!” concluded Mrs Smurthwaite.
