A Taste Back In Canowindra

4 March, 2021 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Canowindra on show: A Taste of Canowindra returns in 2021.

While 2020 was not a banner year for anyone, 2021 is shaping up to be a busy one in Canowindra with a number of events coming up in the next month or two.

The Canowindra Business and Progress Association (CBPA) are happy to announce that A Taste of Canowindra will go ahead on the Saturday, 17 April. The event ties in with Orange F.O.O.D.’s annual week which has been celebrating the finest food the region has to offer for 30 years.

CBPA has been hard at work with local businesses in order to bring this week of festivities back and celebrate all things Canowindra.

Gastronomic highlights include Rafelo pulled pork nachos, shanks and shiraz and local lamb burgers to name a few.

The events will not be solely food based, as plans for FlickerFest short film festival and a local busking competition join the calendar.

The CBPA is calling on local professional and amateur performers to take to the streets for the busking competition, playing for cash and prizes in two categories on Saturday, 17 April.

The event will also provide an opportunity for established musicians and performers to promote themselves to the F.O.O.D week audience visiting town. It also plans to provide mentorship and collaboration with budding Canowindra stars.

The week is already receiving great feedback from visitors promising, “great food, cultivated, collaborated and celebrated in the iconic village of Canowindra, set against a backdrop of hot air balloons, bushranger tales, local arts, film and music.”

Head over to the F.O.O.D week or the CBPA websites to see all the that will be on offer when A Taste of Canowindra returns in April. Make your bookings early so you do not miss out!
