Rugby League greats, Ronny Gibbs and Ashton Simms will be at the Creative Community Concepts dinner at the Canowindra Services Club next Wednesday 29th May.
A free community event is being held at the Canowindra Services Club on Wednesday 29th May, commencing at 6pm.
Creative Community Concepts together with PHN Western NSW, are funding 100 places to this worthwhile evening, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.
The program encompasses Community Wellbeing Evenings that provide a multilayered method to breaking down barriers and developing discussion around the issues challenging community members in rural and remote communities. The mental health messaging, inviting dinner, and lighthearted humour all contributes to the success of these evenings. This approach includes the following but has many more points of impact for community members.
The Wellbeing Evening offers powerful and lived experienced messages from Wayne Wigham of the Black Dog Institute along with special guests sharing their stories of hardship and how they overcame them. The stories and messages shared on how to train your brain shows participants how to build resilience. Local community organisations who deal with Mental Health will also be in attendance. They are invited along to the night so people can talk to other people on the ground if they or know anyone who may be struggling with mental health and wellbeing.
This Food, Fun and Laughter Night in Canowindra will play host to former Rugby League greats, Ronny Gibbs and Ashton Simms, Black Dog Institute’s Wayne Wigham, Comedian Pooka The Clown, along with sports trivia with prizes and giveaways.
