A Great Night Of Australian Music

12 March, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Matt Scullion will be performing in Canowindra on 20 March.

Canowwindra residents are in for a treat on Friday 20 March, as Golden guitar winning singer/songwriter, Matt Scullion, comes to Canowindra for a night of Australiana songs and stories.

Matt has a great way of taking aspects of life in Australia and turning them into a song, and is best known for classics like Aussie As, Slanguage, 1868 and The Aldi Song.

He has spent most of the last few decades making music and touring, in Nashville for ten years and then in Australia.

Matt was a mentor in the inaugural Regional Songwriters’ Retreat last year in Canowindra, and was keen to come back.

Together with local singer/songwriter, Nerida, Matt packed out a venue at the Tamworth festival in January, and the concert was a hit. This time the two will perform at Perennialle Plants, March 20 at 7:30pm.

Tickets are available via www.mattscullionmusic.com/shows, or at the door.

In this two-hour Australiana extravaganza, Matt will tug on your green and gold heartstrings as he performs selected songs off his four chart topping albums with a few Aussie classics thrown in the mix. Nerida will open the concert with a set of all local songs, celebrating life in the area around Canowindra.
