Last Thursday evening, Gaskill Street was buzzing with shoppers full of the Christmas spirit, making the Canowindra Business and Progress Association (CBPA) VIP Christmas Shopping Night a resounding success.
“The feedback we received was positive, people were happy that there was a shopping night, and it was an opportunity for businesses to invite their loyal customers to a VIP or VIL event,” Antonio D’Onise from the CBPA said, “The Selfie With the Elf promotion was especially popular among young families.”
The Canowindra Business and Progress Association has been aiming to boost the local economy, especially leading up to Christmas.
“Being a business and progress association, it’s a core objective of ours to promote the economy in town” he said. “We really look forward to and dedicate a lot of time into these things, with the help of volunteers that give hundred of hours to stimulate spending in the town.”
The CBPA believe November was a great time to hold the Christmas shopping promotion heading into the last few weeks before Christmas.
“It’s not about the takings that just occurred, it’s about initiating more spending from this point and through to Christmas,” Antonio stated.
“As a result of COVID-19 over the past two years, the connection within families at Christmas has been disrupted. So we see this Christmas period as being a really critical one with the benefits of families reconnecting,” he explained.
