A Different Canowindra Community Reading Day For 2020

29 October, 2020 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Emily Bullock and Zoe Milton signalling with semaphore flags as part of the performance.

Earlier this week both Canowindra Public School and St Edward’s Primary School students took part in the 11th Annual Canowindra Community Reading Day.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions the day was held virtually this year much to the delight of staff and students at both schools.

The Canowindra Public School with the help of a grant received from Newcrest Cadia Valley were able to host a great day on Tuesday at the school.

The day included an interactive reading of a shortlisted CBCA book called Hello Lighthouse by Sophie Blackall.

All the students and staff had a great time with children from St Edward’s Primary School even painting their own Lighthouse as part of the day.

K/1 and Year 1/2 also enjoyed the performance.
