A fantastic display of skill and stockmanship was on show at the Canowindra Showground on Saturday 4th November, with over 150 competitors vying for the position of ‘top dog’ at the Canowindra Yard Dog Trial.
In only it’s second year, the number of entries exceded expectations, and organisers were thrilled with the success of the day.
Organiser of the event, Josh Messina from Kurunga Kelpies said, “We would like to thank the Canowindra community – for those who came and watched, and the local farmers who entered.”
A big congratulations to local champion on the day Matthew Pearce with his dog Roxy, proudly sponsored by the Royal Hotel.
The day would not have been possible without the support from generous sponsors, Guy Tidswell for supplying the sheep and Tony Warn Transport for delivery of the livestock.
The success of the day is also thanks to the support of sponsors including: KMWL, Bryton Wool, Uralba Livestock, Blue Jacket Motel, The Royal Hotel, Canowindra Tyre Service, PA & CL McKenzie Builders, AGWISE Rural supplies and Bowyer & Livermore.
Organisers look forward to seeing everyone back next year, for what is becoming a firm favourite on the local events calendar.
