New Year @ The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden

9 January, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Looking for a new adventure this Summer? There are plenty of events and activities suitable for everyone at the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden. You could take your kids on a Safari through the Garden on a self-guided adventure trail and find out about amazing plants and animals.
There is also a Garden Weaving Exhibition by Lanny Mackenzie who showcases vibrant hand-woven baskets and sculptured pieces. Based in Orange, she possesses a ‘recycle, reduce and re-use’ philosophy and only uses natural materials, garden cuttings and shopping bags.

There is also the Wollemi Warrior Adventure Performance that is both fun and interactive for kids 3-12 years.

The performance showcases the villainous Iggy Chop trying to destroy the famous Wollemi Pine and turn it into a toothpick for his collection.

You could also join Carol Probets with her Bird Talk birding guide and learn about some of the birds and their habitats in a nice morning stroll through the wilderness of the Blue Mountains. Carol will give instructions on using binoculars and techniques on how to get started as a birdwatcher!
