The Phoenix is always a welcome delivery into my inbox. On Issue 381 (10th March, I get it a bit later usually) I would like to confirm that Paul Toole is indeed unconsciously described with respect to the State plans for amalgamation.
When we look further to the article on the remedial works in Gaskill Street costing $83,000.00, one might wonder whether the floods might have occurred if lesser works in maintenance had been done more regularly, the old adage ‘a stitch in time saves nine’ seems appropriate here. Let us not also forget that the likelihood of this type of road maintenance being conducted under
the amalgamation model would be even less likely to occur with the potential of the ‘squeaky wheel’ of Orange City demanding priority.
The final question is to whether Bill Paul was compensated for his losses x 2, given his many years of effort and commitment to the community as fire chief?
