Tommy Comes to Town – Part 2

19 December, 2013 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Tommy has officially owned the Deli Lama for less than 2 weeks, and already, it has been transformed! The “Deli” now boasts three seating areas, with gorgeous lounge chairs, beautiful colours, art, and even a chandelier!

“We have everyone’s head spinning at this end of Gaskill Street…the level of change in such a short amount of time has really surprised people.”

Tommy was adamant about maintaining the heritage of the building, liaising with the Heritage
Council about the use of colours and the renovation itself. He also wanted to create a lovely, fresh place where people could come, enjoy a coffee (or indeed a cold drink), have some food and catch up with friends.

The “ladies room” is the perfect place for a catch-up. Although not restricted to ladies only, this room was originally a storage room and Tommy has knocked the wall out to create a flow-on effect from the original seating area.

“I think the ambience in the room is just fantastic. It really is a lovely little spot to sit and relax, and it has just opened the whole store up.”

Tommy really wanted to respect the existing menu, incorporating a range of different menu items and introducing them gradually. There will be an array of fresh roast meats, cheeses and salads each day, and of course, our favourite little sweet treats as before.

The “Deli” will also be serving breakfast and lunch every day.

Tommy was also over the moon with the quality of craftsmanship and would like to thank S&S Central West Carpentry and Daniel Bowd for their assistance over the past week.

Why not drop in and see the transformation yourself. As Tommy says, “Don’t peek over the fence, come in and have a gander!”
