Montrose house

Hello Readers, welcome to this month’s column from Montrose House. Our first Queen’s Club luncheon for the year was held on 25th February with 15 ladies all dressed very elegantly enjoying a scrumptious lunch and the very pleasant company. We were delighted to hear the
life story of our wonderful Muriel Yeo who has had an exciting life for sure.

We decided to change the name because as Mary Finn said, “We don’t want to be the first wife, we want to be the only one!” The Queen’s Club is a wonderful club in Sydney that is years old and very smart, elegant and interesting. Local lady Roz Finn is a member, she showed me her card the other day, so if you haven’t been, try us at the end of the month. Good food, lovely ladies and a wonderful atmosphere.

Had lots of visitors for local lady Pat Grant’s 90th birthday last weekend, Montrose was full to overflowing! Saturday Night Noel McKay celebrated his 60th birthday with a nautical theme, navy blue and white Mariners colours. It was a wonderful group of happy people celebrating a milestone in this popular bloke’s life.

Sunday saw Dianne Frost from Cargo’s mum Oma celebrate her 80th birthday with a large family gathering for lunch. I dressed the tables with lilac and purples and beautiful white lilies for this very special lady who enjoyed the fuss.

It was also the place for Sunday lunch for those legendary ladies and gents from St Vincent de Paul who won the Christmas Window Decorating competition and spent their voucher with me at Montrose House.

Such a wonderful group of people enjoying their delicious lunch and atmosphere in our delightful ‘Tuscany Room’. I have a 30th birthday cocktail party coming up and a Christening also in the next couple of week. A bus group from Grenfell for lunch and another 80th birthday so lots to keep me busy and it’s bringing lots of people to the town who are shopping here and keeping the town thriving. Hope you are all well and happy in our beautiful little place in the sun, Canowindra
Town.
