Welcome to the very first column for Montrose House! Tommy wants to give a huge thank you to the ladies who attended the Melbourne Cup soiree last week. We had forty-five ladies in attendance, all of them sensationally dressed, with everyone enjoying a sumptuous lunch followed by a beautiful High Tea.
Congratulations to Muriell Yeo and Marlene Grant for winning the prize for Best Dressed in their fabulous outfits. The very first luncheon for the First Wives Club will be held on Thursday 26 November, where widowed ladies can get together and socialise with like minded people outside their comfort zone.
There is a different guest speaker each month with every get-together sporting
a different theme. The theme for the first luncheon is Whites & Brights and all you lovely ladies are asked to bring a plate of food.
There aren’t many rules, but you do have to be a widow to participate and when you book, Tommy will let you know whether to bring a sweet or a savoury to share. The First Wives Club is for ladies who like an interesting day out with good food, good atmosphere and good company – you can’t miss this!
