The Tiger Cubs played their best game of the year against Eugowra on the weekend who are undefeated this season.
The players had a positive outlook, showing great determination and control and Eugowra realised they had a battle on their hands.
Canowindra received a penalty 15 meters out, taking their lead to 12-0.
The Tigers demonstrated their best defensive effort of the year and really put the pressure on the Eugowra team.
The half time score was 13-0 in the Tigers’ favour, but the outlook of the second half was a tough test for both teams.
Eugowra quickly hit back to narrow the gap and stayed on the attack for the rest of the game, and the Tigers couldn’t hold the Eagles out.
With only 19 minutes left, it was a test of both physical and mental strength. The Tigers began to make simple mistakes in possession, giving too much ball to Eugowra who scored out wide to lead for the first time in the match.
Eugowra continued to widen the score, and after an altercation the Eagles moved the ball wide to run in a late try. The final score was 24-13.
