Results Are In For The Cake & Curry Cook-Off!

The high standard of entries for the Cake & Curry Cook-Off meant that everyone was a winner at the Deli Lama! The judges felt that every cake and curry had their own merits and each judge had different favourites, but after a lot of tasting and re-tasting (just to be sure) the top prize of a champagne gift basket was awarded to local Ambo, Laura Harrison, for her fantastic apple sour cream cake. “Laura was going to come in early in case anyone collapsed because it was so good!” Tommy joked. The Pre-Schools “Carnival” cake was the most creative and colourful, winning a box of chocolates while Robyn Lynch’s Mississippi Mud Cake was awarded an “Outside Book” by John Durie. Toby and Moose’s Aussie style curry took home the esky of beer with their “best chuck in the west” according to the three judges of the day, Tommy Jeffs, Jo Robson and Elaine Perse. All cakes looked very professional and were beautifully presented and as Jo said on the day, “Good on everyone for entering!”
