Lake Canobolas will be a scene of colour, great noise and excitement on Sunday 1 November, with Dragon Boaters from all over NSW competing against each other in the Western Region Regatta.
The Western Region covers clubs from Narrabri, Dubbo, Mudgee, Parkes, Forbes, Bathurst, Blue Mountains, Wagga Wagga and Lithgow as well as the two Orange teams. Other teams from the coastal regions and Sydney will also be competing.
If you are looking for an entertaining day out, head to Lake Canobolas, take a picnic or enjoy the Lakeside Cafe and watch the Dragon Boats in action. Dragon Boating is a great sport for all ages, genders and abilities. Up to 20 paddlers race together in a boat with a sweep (steerer) and the drummer at the front. Usually three or four boats compete in a race.
