A Canowindra man is waving goodbye to the town and saying hello to golden shores after scoring $1 million in the Weekday Windfall draw. The local resident held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4752, drawn Monday 7 September 2026. Each entry looks forward to a neat $1 million.
When an official from The Lott called the cheerful winner, he was still struggling to take in the reality of his newfound fortune.
“I thought I would’ve been more excited, but I think I’m just in shock!” he laughed.
“I’ve been playing these same seven numbers for decades. It’s very surreal.
“I saw it last night and it didn’t even register. I went ‘oh yeah, those are my numbers’.
It took me a minute before I realised what that actually meant.
“It’s funny because there’s plenty of times I’ve thought, ‘These numbers will never come out’.”
When asked how he planned to live life as a brand-new millionaire, he shared there was one thing on his bucket list.
“Well, it’s great timing because I’ve been wanting to move,” he said. “Living near the beach would be a real treat.”
His winning marked System 7 entry was purchased from Canowindra Post Shop.
Canowindra Post Shop manager Karen Cummings shared the team was ecstatic to have sold their first ever division one winning ticket.
“It’s such a thrill, we’re so excited for whoever won it!” she said.
“We’ve only had the newsagency here for about three years and this is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold.
“It’s fantastic news for our small town. I’ve started printing off some signs and putting balloons up to share the good news.”
“Congratulations to the winner, we wish you all the best to your prize!”
