Celebrating National Tree Day: Last week Canowindra High School students from Year 11 Agriculture, Year 11 Metal and Timber, and the E1 class worked together to plant 230 trees at the agriculture farm and in the school’s front gardens to celebrate National Tree Day. Thank you to Cabonne Council for generously donating the trees and supporting this wonderful initiative.

• Pool season opening and closing dates

• Waste Management Facility open days

Even if you don’t receive a kerbside collection service, they’re still a useful reminder of key Council dates throughout the year. Pick yours up today from the Council offices in Canowindra, Molong or Cudal. Or contact Council to have one posted to you.

Year 11 Subject Information Evening – 2027: Join Canowindra High School for their Year 11 Subject Information Evening to learn about the subjects available for 2027, course requirements, and the subject selection process. Gain valuable information oncourse requirements and the subject selection process and take the opportunity to ask questions and speak with teachers. Monday 10th August, 6pm.

Friendship Morning Tea: The monthly CWA Friendship Morning tea will be held next Monday, 10 August from 10.30am to 12pm at the CWA Hall, 24 Blatchford Street. Join the Canowindra CWA ladies for a cuppa, have a chat, catch up with friends and maek new ones. There is no charge, but a donation to the CWA is always appreciated. Everyone is welcome to come along.

Little Fishes At Age Of Fishes Museum: Get ready to dig into the fascinating world of fossils this Friday, 7 August, 11am – 11:30am. Young scientists will discover why fossils are so important. There’ll be plenty of hands-on fun, including creating a spaghetti dinosaur skeleton, making insect amber fossils, hatching dinosaur ice eggs, matching dinosaur tracks to their owners and plant fossil imprinting. Entry is free, and no bookings are required, just turn up and enjoy the learning experience.

African Art Show: Africa came to Canowinrdra last Saturday with the official opening of the latest exhibition at Rosnay Cellar Door by local artist Sue Hodge. The exhibition will run for the month of Auugust, so head out to Rosnay to see it for yourself.
