The Canowindra CWA recently held a successful Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser for Cancer research.
Sincere Thanks: The Canowindra Branch of the CWA would like to thank everyone from the CWA who helped in any way with the biggest morning tea which raised $2,590. It was a big effort from the community.
Wrap With Love News: Sorry I was not able to attend the last meeting. I would like to thank Marion and Elaine for taking over the meeting for me. We managed to complete 10 wraps for the month bringing the total for the year to 47. We had 13 members to the meeting with two new members, Pam Byrnes and Cheryl Sargent. I hope they enjoyed the company and will return. I have some sad news to report. Dawn Longford one of the members who started in Canowindra Knitters passed away on 28 May and we send our thoughts to all the members of her family. I would like to welcome our new members and give thanks to those who completed wraps. The way we are going, we may reach 100 this year. Hope to see you at our next meeting – Nina Kallas.
Biosecurity Workshop: Cabonne Council will be hosting a Biosecurity Workshop on Tuesday, 23 June from 10.30am. This 90-minute session will deliver practical, locally relevant information on identifying and managing priority weeds, with a focus on serrated tussock and cape broom. These invasive species can have significant impacts on agricultural productivity, native biodiversity, and land values if left unmanaged. You’ll work through gross margins, cash flow and decision trigger points with experts who know what livestock businesses are facing right now. Canowindra Yard Dog Trial Championships: The Canowindra Yard Dog Trials will be held on 27 and 28 June at the Canowindra Showground. Affiliated with NSWYDA, the event will have two rings running and offer a range of classes includng maiden, improved, novice and open. Registrations close on 22 June.
