The Canowindra tigresses had a very good win over Blayney last Sunday with an impressive 48-4 victory. All the girls played very well. The Tigeresses were a constant threat to the Blayney defense with Addison Newcombe scoring three tries and threatening the opposition through the middle.
The return of Maddie Barrett around the edges also had the opposition in a quandary of what the next plays were going to be. Lily Bannan had her usual strong game scoring 2 tries, 1 try each to Pascoe, Harrison, White, Devlin and Barrett.
Canowindra first grade had a disappointing day going down to Blayney first grade 66 points to six the side without the regular halfback and centers lacked organisation through the backline and defence stretched several times. The boys tried hard, but Blayney was too classy in the backs. Toots and James Dine return in two weeks which will strengthen up the back, and the boys are just going to work on their defensive structure in the next fortnight.
In two week’s time we travel to Trundle, and they will have to bring their A game as Trundle are very strong at home.
This weekend we have a quiz night at the Bowling club on Saturday night. There will be a Woodbridge Cup Rep game played in Grenfell.
