Be Seen @ Mid Lachlan Landcare Mycology May Events

13 May, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

It has been a busy start to the month for Mid Lachlan Landcare with two big events as part of Mycology May. First an on farm catch up at ‘Garrallan’ in Cowra for a seasonal chat with Growing the Grazing Revolution facilitator Scott Hickman. Then a fantastic presentation by Alison Pouliot who discussed how fungi can be farmers underground allies helping to put more resilience in our systems and how fungi is critical to healthy functioning Landscapes. Over two days volunteers also planted almost 250 plants at ‘Garallan’. This planting will benefit many species although it’s main aim is to increase feed trees and habitat for the Superb Parrots.

Many hands make light work when you have 250 trees to plant!

The poperty ‘Garrallan’ is located in a beautiful spot along the Lachlan (Galari) River.

The beautiful Autumn weather provided ideal conditions for planting.
