Bowls Update

Women’s Bowls

Last Tuesday’s results were: 1st round- Jean Roth defeats Jenny Middleton 153-147

2nd round- Marion Wilson defeated Heather Hoad 151-149, Nancy Morrow defeated Gwen Haydon 150-145 and Betty Jenkins defeated Daph Bryant 155-130.

Thanks to the markers Diane Slattery, Shirley Robson, Sheryn O’Malveney and Ellen Petty. Two games of social pairs were played by Bobbie Turner and Colleen Crump who beat Dianne Mooney and Maureen Baillie & Jill Messenger and Sandy McDonald beat Anne Ziano and Christine Pickard. The Lucky Draw was won by Shirley Robson. We had two teams represent our Club at the Forbes President’s Day held on Wednesday 23rd July. Sheryn won a Spider Prize and Marion a Raffle Prize, which she donated back to the Club.

 

Men’s Bowls

Last weekend was the multi triples day with 14 teams. Winners of the day were Josh, Vinnie and Nick. R/up were Ivy Fogg, Ruby Fogg and Judith Day. The winner of the wood raffle was Craig Carpenter, 3 tonnes of wood should keep you warm for a while mate. Sunday will be the finals of major and minor triples. Majors will be J Bohanna, C Milburn & P Kennedy v D Beath, R Traves and P Taylor. Minors will be P Sargent, R Bates & M Baldwin v N & J Preston and N Delaney. On Saturday there will be 3 consistency games; C Webb v V Mirto, marker B Webb. T Mooney v P Kennedy, marker K Fisher and R Lynch v N Delaney marker I Nelder. All games begin at 1pm. Next Saturday Josh goes to Cowra to play in the champion singles, go Josh!
