First Class Of ‘Anti-Bulliers’ Graduate

8 April, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Students successfully completed the Harvest Community Churches’ Anti-bullying program.

The first class has graduated from Harvest Community Churches’ Anti-bullying program. Wednesday 1 April, saw 17 ‘anti-bulliers’ be formally assessed on their ability to demonstrate a whole range of different self defence techniques.

The basis of the program is to ‘be the superhero in the playground’. The participants are taught to use their training for the protection of themselves or other vulnerable people.

This is the sixth time, Head Coach, Pastor Mick George has run this type of program, having established similar programs in Melbourne, Brisbane, Karratha and Canberra.

Mick said that he was really impressed with the standard of this group and is looking forward to continuing their training next term.

Due to the popularity of the program, Mick said that for term 2, the group will be split over Monday and Wednesday nights from 4:30pm until 5:15pm each night.

While it means that instead of training twice per week, each participant will now only train once per week; the benefit is that the program will now be able to accommodate up to 40 participants. Training is for anyone aged 6 and above.

Adult self-defence classes are also held on Monday and Wedneday nights from 5:45pm until 7pm.

Mick is now taking registrations for Term two. Anyone interested can contact Assistant Coach, Mischa on 0412 939 287 or email mischa@harevestcc.com.au.
