Free Baits Available For Central Tablelands Landholders

8 April, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The Central Tablelands LLS region to protect livestock and native wildlife through coordinated pest animal control.

Autumn is a critical time for managing wild dogs and foxes, with pest activity typically increasing during the breeding season.

Fluctuating conditions make controlling feral pigs and rabbits more effective due to limited feed options on the ground.

Taking action now helps reduce predation, minimise stock losses and support healthier farm productivity leading into winter.

Accredited landholders will have access to a range of free baits, including 1080 meat baits, chicken wings, baited grain, 50 DOG

GONE baits and one farmpack of FOXOFF per landholder, as well as baited carrots for rabbit control.

Pest animals don’t recognise property boundaries, so the most effective results come when neighbours work together. Coordinated baiting programs create a landscape‑wide impact that far exceeds what can be achieved by individual landholders working alone.

Local Land Services provides the training and support needed to make pest control practical and effective. For more information or to arrange bait collection, contact your local biosecurity officer on 1300 795 299.
