This year marks the 70th Anniversary of the Prisoner of War Breakout at Cowra.

There will be a media presentation with special guests before the official wreath laying ceremonies commence on Tuesday 5th August. Some of the special guests include Mr Teruo Murakami, the last surviving POW from the Breakout and world-renowned Australian writer Tom Keneally.

The Japanese Gardens will also be opening their doors for free from 2nd to the 5th August, feeling that by opening their gates it will help mend past tensions. Visitors to the garden on Sunday will be treated to performances by the Sakura Choir at 2.30pm.
