Junior Cricket

25 March, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The victorious Canowindra Junior Cricket team after defeating Cowra Strikers in the grand final last Saturday.

The Canowindra Junior Cricket team followed in fine form right behind our senior cricket team taking a win against Cowra Strikers in the season grand final held last Saturday, 21 March in Cowra. It has been an incredible season, showing huge numbers for the Canowindra junior squad.

The Canowindra team won by eight wickets. The Cowra Strikers were all out for 37, with Tali Bullock hitting the winning runs in over 12. Wickets went to Jack Daly (2), Tali Bullock (2), Arthur Johnstone and Charile Clarke. Vincent hit four 4’s, Noah was 17 not out with one 4 and Finn Grey was 13 not out with one 4.

The player of the match was Jack Trengove with three wickets (3/1 off 2.1 overs) and the ACE Award went to Vincent Sharp for 20 runs off 20 balls.

Well done to Finn Grey who was awarded the Matt Morrison trophy for champion player in the competition.

Thanks to Harry Grey and Nick Daly for coaching a successful team throughout the competition. A special thanks to Wooly for also taking the time to support our cricketers during training sessions.

Thank you also to sponsors Canowindra Services Club, Canowindra Butchery & Perennialle Plants Nursery, Cafe and Emporium.
