New Community Connections – Volunteering Information Hub

12 March, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Dear Community Group members,

I am pleased to announce the Canowindra Creative Centre Inc has been successful to receive a Grant from ‘The Centre for Volunteering’ to establish a ‘Community Connections – Volunteering Information Hub’. We can help promote your group through advertising in the Canowindra Phoenix, on social media and printed. This will be done with your help by providing me with your group or activities where volunteers are involved. If you are wanting to be part of this free promotion, please answer the following questions:

• Who you are

• What activities you do

• Volunteer roles in your group/activities (this can include committee roles, management, general running activities)

• What areas you are needing to support your group/activities and skills sets required eg organizing activities, committee roles, computer skills, money handling, shop sales assistant, research, background work, people interactive skills etc)

• Who to contact for further information with contact phone/email, Facebook and/or website details.

A Volunteer Awareness Expo is planned for June 2026. This is an opportunity to

showcase your group and/or activities where volunteers are involved. Further information will be circulated shortly. You are invited to contact me regarding the Expo.

This is a great opportunity for our volunteer community activities. This is about helping our community and each other.

Please contact me for any further information or to clarify any questions you have.

To discuss this project further and how we can help, you are invited to catch up in person. Please contact me or come along to Orana House 32 Ferguson Street Canowindra on Friday 20th March at 10.30am. A cuppa will be provided. If coming to Orana House please let me know by Wednesday 18th March for catering purposes.

Please note: This Grant is a great opportunity with a limited time.

Thank you. I look forward to catching up with you.

Cheers,
Deb Rutter
