What a great couple of days at Canowin­dra Bowls Club! The Anniversary Triples on Saturday had a full complement of teams and locals matched it with many visit­ings teams. Roger, Phil and Peter were runners-up in the semifinal. Fitzy, Jones and Shorty Shaw from Queensland were runners-up in the final. Blake, James and Barry Jones were other semifinal runnersup from Grenfell.

Winners were Brad Lamond, Ash Beadel and Geoff Lockwood from Orange Country Club. Round winners were the Danny Kelly team from Wallacia, Cat Smith team from Cowra and Brent Lees composite team.

The Ron Worboys memorial Pairs also had a full complement of teams. The final was a family affair with Phil Lees and Tony Wilson (Orange City) playing Brent Lees and John Archer (Bathurst). The final was a magnificent contest with the final bowls on the last end deciding the match over four ends.

Round winners on the day, Larry and Crock, Wallacia team, Cola and Dool.

Runners-up in the semifinals were Brad Lamond and Ash Beadel Orange Country Club and Bob Hamilton Orange City and Shannon from Molong.

The ladies served up two beautiful meals on the weekend which was well received by all the bowlers. Thanks to all the help­ers, Corey Rooke on the BBQ, Monique and Margo on the can bar and Kayleen on the results board. Thanks Bob Bowd for the marquee, it was greatly appreciated by our members and visitors.

Raffles winners went to the team visiting from Wallacia on both days and Monique won the second prize on Sunday. Thanks to all the sponsors from the community, without your support we would not be able to hold these prestigious events. Congratu­lations to all teams for entering and sup­porting the club.

Singles close on 1 February. Pennants commences on the 14/15 February and fol­lowing rounds are on Sundays with 11am start. Due to be completed by 15 March.

The Club and Board offer their condo­lences to the Crowe, Paul and Brooks fami­lies on their recent losses.

Badge draws Wednesday $550, Friday $2,100 and Sunday $450. Meat raffles are back in full swing this weekend. Friday twi­light bowls for 6.30pm start.Thursday af­ternoon 2pm start and the jackpot is rising again .
