Rugby Union/ Pythons

23 July, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

This Saturday marked another win for the Pythons against the CSU Aggies in Orange. Tom Roth put the first points on the board with Ben Schafer converting. Ed Price played one of his better games in the sky blue and deserved to be the next player to cross the line. Ben Schafer scored the final try of the first half to give the pythons a lead going into half-time. The boys came back out firing and Craig Mackensie dived over the line to deliver the all-important bonus point for the pythons. Sean Wyburn made sure the boys finished on the right note by smashing his way through the CSU defence and scoring with only minutes remaining, leading to a 31-0 win. Mclintocks points for the day went to Dan Bowd; 3 points, 2 points to Ben Schafer and Jack Knights and 1 point to Tom Roth and Todd Wyburn. Players’ player went to Sean Wyburn and Ben Schafer.  This weekend the Pythons have the bye. The following weekend is the final home game of the year against West Wyalong, with the club holding the sponsors and members day. This last game will prove vital for the pythons to reach the semis.
