The modern new interior of the Canowindra Library.
The refurbishment of the Canowindra CHS and Library is now entering its most exciting phase, with the project rapidly moving toward completion. After construction began in May, following a detailed design, approval and tendering process, the site has progressed smoothly, overcoming early demolition challenges and staying firmly on schedule.
The finishing touches are now underway, with final painting, fit‑off and detailed touch‑ups bringing the new space to life.
The next steps, including furniture delivery and installation of the Meals on Wheels freezer are set to take place this month, marking another major milestone.
The newly refurbished library and council offices are expected to move into the upgraded building next month, ahead of a public opening.
Once complete, the community will benefit from a modern, expanded and far more functional facility, including a larger library, new public toilets, upgraded and accessible council offices, and a dedicated community meeting room designed for local groups and gatherings.
The countdown to opening is officially on, and the transformed space is shaping up to be a vibrant new hub for the Canowindra community.
