Harvest Community Church is the new umbrella parish name for the cooperating Anglican and Uniting Parishes of Canowindra, Woodstock, Eugowra and Cranbury.
Canowindra’s Cooperating Church has kept itself alive in recent decades by sharing resources, ministry and clergy but has been struggling with a core of ageing parishioners for some time. Sunday schools folded years ago and a generation or more have grown up with no knowledge at all of Jesus Christ, God, Christian faith and the meaning of Christian living.
This is about to be turned around by the recent arrival from Queanbeyan of Reverend Mick George, his wife Tammy and their four young adult children, all of whom are committed Christians. Mick and his family have offered to pastor the Cooperating Church for two years free of charge (ie, no salary), confident that they can build it into a vibrant modern evangelical church.
They have sold their house in Queanbeyan and moved to the Anglican rectory on the corner of Tilga and Suttor Streets.
Mick had a career in the military where he was a company commander in the Royal Australian Infantry, deployed to East Timor and undertook border security operations in the Torres Strait and northern Australia.
He was subsequently ordained as an army chaplain.
From 1 February 2026, you can join Harvest Community Church to worship at:
• 10:30am every Sunday at All Saints Anglican Canowindra.
• 8am every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at St Matthew’s Anglican Church Woodstock.
• 3pm every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at St Matthew’s Anglican Church Eugowra.
• 3pm every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the Month at the beautiful Cranbury Uniting Church, Cranbury.
