Men’s Bowls

26 November, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

In the mixed pairs Dool and Lea defeated Eryn and kiwi Tony in a strong performance.

A correction of the mixed Pairs Michael and Penny defeated Brad and Sharon 28/7.

Dool and Lea now play Michael and Penny on Tuesday with the winner playing Ben and Cristy on 3 December in a Wednesday evening in the Final.

In the open fours a cracking game was played on Sunday afternoon with the result going down to the last end. Michael, Crock, Graham and Jamie G played out of their skins to nearly pull an upset from the team of Teddy, Glen, Barney and Deb. Michael’s team raced out to a good lead early and then Teddy’s team found some form and went to the lead at the halfway mark. On the last end Teddy’s side led by a signal shot 20/19. Teddy’s team held on for the win, scoring shots on the last end.

Well done to Glen and Deb who came from a tournament in Parkes to play the competition match and thanks to all players making them available to play at the later start of the game at 4pm. There was

an excellent number of spectators on hand to watch.

Next weekend we have several players in the senior singles at Canowindra and reserve singles at Forbes. We wish them all the best. These games start at 8.30am and they will play 3 rounds on the day with semifinals played on the Sunday.

Depending on the singles results a fours game is scheduled for Sunday at 3pm. Teddy, Glen, Barney, Deb play P and B Lees, Tot and Chalie V8.

On Wednesday the open fours match between Ben, Tony, Pete B, Caine and Larry, James S, Brad and John.

The consistency match between Ben andDool is scheduled for Saturday at 11am.

Gooloogong has a social day on 7 December so get your teams in early.
