Men’s Bowls

19 November, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

The mixed pairs are progressing well and could be completed in the next two weeks.

In first round results, Sharon and Brad had a solid win over Kayleen and Jamie G 30/21. Cristy and Ben didn’t have it all their way in the win over Bob and Kris 21/16.

Cherie and Jamie S defeated Jeannette and Crock in a comprehensive display 28/15. Lea and Dool ran out winners over Peter and Jenny 27/17.

In the second rounds, Penny and Michael had a narrow victory over Brad and Sharon 28/27. This was a great game that could have gone either way. Cherie and Jamie S defeated Joyce and Greg 31/15 in a solid display. Ben and Cristy had good win over Shez and Dingo. If Dingo and Shez could play more often, the result would have been a lot closer.

Tony and Eryn will play Dool and Lea on Wednesday night, and the winner goes on to play Penny and Michael, possibly on the weekend or before next Wednesday, to bring the draw back in line with the other side of the draw.

Open fours match will be played on Sunday at 4pm with Glen, Deb, Barney and Teddy to play Michael, Graham Greg and Jamie.

The consistency match between Ben and Dool will also be played soon.

Friday night twilight bowls had a massive 28 bowlers last week and it was great to see all enjoying social bowls.

We also have zone senior singles on the weekend of 29 – 30 November, with players travelling to Forbes for reserve singles. We wish all players the best of luck.

Thursday afternoon social bowls is also going strong, with games from 2 pm.

The Major jackpot will be drawn on 30 November at approximately 7.30pm.

End of year Christmas celebrations will be held on 21 December, with a highlight of the day to be the Guilty Dogs and friends performing their favourite Christmas tunes.

Enjoy all the usual bells and whistles of a Sunday Session at The Bowlo, raffles, kid’s art table and food available. Of course there will also be a visit from Santa, so be on your best behaviour! Keep an eye out on Facebook and club flyers for details.

The badge draws for this week are Wednesday $1,000, Friday $1,100 and Sunday $100.
