Do you manage land with box gum or grey box grassy woodlands? Central West Local Land Services are inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from landholders to help protect and restore these threatened ecological communities (TECs) that are vital to our region’s environmental and agricultural health.
These woodlands are more than just trees. They support clean air, healthy soils, and productive landscapes. With only 5-10% of their original extent remaining in our region, your involvement can make a real difference.
By participating, you’ll receive technical support and assistance to carry out onground conservation works that deliver real benefits:
• improved soil stability and water filtration
• habitat for pollinators and natural pest control
• shade and shelter for livestock
• carbon sequestration and air purification
• wildlife corridors across fragmented landscapes.
Landholders selected for this project will receive:
• technical support, funding and assistance to carry out on-ground conservation works in areas with box gum or grey box grassy woodland
• a Cultural Heritage Survey on the project site organised by Central West LLS staff, at no cost to the landholder.
Not sure if you have these TECs on your property? Use the NSW Trees Near Me tool to explore native vegetation near you.
EOIs close Tuesday 18 November 2025.
