Orange And Cabonne Heavy Vehicle Forum

15 October, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Learn more about the new fatigue laws that apply to drivers and operators of heavy vehicles 4.5 tonnes and over.

You are invited to attend the free Orange and Cabonne Heavy Vehicle Forum on Tuesday, 12 November 2025, in Orange.

This year’s Forum will focus on the new fatigue laws that apply to drivers and operators of heavy vehicles 4.5 tonnes and over, and what these changes mean for farmers who operate vehicles and equipment.

It’s an important opportunity for managers, operators, and industry partners to come together to understand the impacts, share insights, and strengthen our collective approach to compliance and safety.

“Failure to comply with fatigue laws can result in fines up to $20,000 per offence” said Andrea Hamilton-Vaughan, Orange and Cabonne Road Safety Officer.

“I want to give the landowners and operators of Cabonne the information they need to comply with the new regulations.”

Key highlights include:

• Overview of the new fatigue laws and how they apply to operations and scheduling and penalties

• Address by the Hon. Jenny Aitchson, Minister for Roads and Regional Transport

• A keynote address by Senator Glenn Sterle

• Presentations from Transport for NSW, Road Freight NSW, and industry safety specialists on PBS

• Updates on regional freight priorities, infrastructure planning, and driver wellbeing initiatives

Your attendance will ensure you are informed and engaged as we adapt to these regulatory changes. It’s also a valuable opportunity to network with key stakeholders and contribute to discussions shaping the future of heavy vehicle safety in regional NSW.

Please RSVP at orange.nsw.gov.au/safety forum to confirm your attendance. A full program and venue details will follow upon registration.
