The SMARTS exhibition first held in 2018, originally showcased HSC entrants from the district of Cabonne and had over 200 visitors.
Molong Central School’s P&C is excited to announce that entries are officially open for SMARTS (Spring Molong Arts Festival) 2025. This highly anticipated community event will be held on the evening of Friday, 31 October at the Cabonne Community Centre.
The exhibition and art sale will feature an impressive collection of artworks ranging from paintings and photography to sculpture from some of the region’s most talented artists, as well as from emerging and established creators further afield.
The event is designed not only to celebrate the arts but also to support a vital cause. Proceeds from commissions on artwork sales will be directed towards the rebuilding of Molong Central School’s agricultural facilities, which were severely damaged in the devastating 2022 floods.
“Rebuilding these facilities is a key priority for the school community, and SMARTS is an important way to raise much needed funds,” said P&C President Penelope Webb.
“The funds raised will have a lasting impact on our students by helping us restore the strength of our agricultural program, which is at the heart of our rural school’s identity”. “Our 2025 art exhibition and sale is expected to attract a large number of visitors,” said Ms Claire Ryan, Visual Arts Teacher.
“The community will have the opportunity to purchase affordable, original artworks while supporting both the arts and the future of our school”. The exhibition and sale will open at 6pm.
In addition to the art exhibition and sale, the evening will include live musical performances, light refreshments, and opportunities to meet the artists.
Artists interested in participating are warmly encouraged to submit their entries via the festival website at www.smarts.org.au, where they will find full details about submission guidelines, deadlines, and conditions of entry.
The organisers are calling on the community to save the date and get involved in what promises to be an evening of creativity, connection, and celebration.
