Men’s Bowls

24 September, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

What a great final of the minor triples on Sunday, with both teams having bowlers new to competition. The match was very close all the way until the 16th end where Michael, Graham and Greg Chester gained the lead 13/12. They won five of the last six ends to defeat Eryn, Marc and Greg Wright 22/13. Well done to both teams.

The major triples semi-final is scheduled for 18 October and the final before 3 November.

Games will be drawn for the long weekend Saturday and Monday. For those not playing, there will social bowls on Monday for 1.30pm start. Matches can be played midweek by mutual agreement anytime.

No games this Saturday due to the local show. The following consistency games are drawn for Sunday for a 1pm start.

• Caine v Jamie S, marker Tony T

• Harry v Crock, marker Larry

• Marc v Tim, marker Jamie G

• Eryn v Brad, marker Dool

Hope all the twilight bowlers are gearing up for the upcoming season. Games will commence 10 October, 6.30pm start.

We had local players in the reserves pairs played at Canowindra on the weekend, unfortunately it wasn’t the day for Glen Seton and Barney Robson. The Caragabal team went onto win the section. Mitch and Greg C will be in Orange this weekend playing in the rookies pairs competition. We wish them well.

Footy tipping party is on 2 October at 6pm, please let staff know if you are attending.
