Simone Thornette To Light Up The Lounge At Canowindra Bowling Club

27 August, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Simone Thornette, performing on stage.

Central West’s musical gem, Simone Thornette, is set to captivate audiences in a special solo performance at the Canowindra Bowling Club’s lounge on Saturday 30 August from 6:30-9:30 PM. Known for her vibrant stage presence and soulful renditions, Simone promises an evening that music lovers will not want to miss.

Simone Thornette, the talented singer and guitarist from the renowned band “Guilty Dogs,” will be stepping into the spotlight on her own, bringing her unique blend of musical artistry to life. Fans can expect a night filled with emotion, energy, and perhaps even a few surprise guest appearances.

Simone’s influences are as varied as they are iconic, ranging from the rock anthems of Cold Chisel to the ethereal sounds of Fleetwood Mac, the poignant storytelling of Missy Higgins, and the folk-infused tunes of Kasey Chambers. This eclectic mix of inspirations is sure to reflect in her performance, creating a rich tapestry of sound that will resonate with audiences.

With a repertoire that spans from the haunting melodies of “Zombie” by The Cranberries to the powerful ballads like “Nothing Else Matters,” Simone is excited to challenge her vocal range while engaging with the crowd. Her ability to read and respond to the audience’s energy ensures a dynamic and interactive evening.

Simone’s musical journey began in Perth during the late ’90s, where she honed her craft at open mic nights and played with the original band “Black Market.” Her songwriting is deeply inspired by the raw and relatable styles of Jewel and Missy Higgins, aiming to connect with audiences through authenticity and vulnerability.

Join us for a fun evening out as Simone Thornette brings her passion for music to the Canowindra Bowling Club. The Chinese restaurant will be open for dinner and courtesy bus running in town.
