Showtime: Gather Your Entries For The Cobley Pavilion

Eggs and citrus are always popular categories in the Cobley Pavilion.

Canowindra Show is on 26 and 27 Septem­ber and the Ladies Auxiliary in the Cobley Pavilion offer a range of excellent sections to enter. You can access full Section infor­mation from the Canowindra Bakery and in shop windows around town, or you can ac­cess all details www.canowindrashow.com.au/ladies-auxiliary-pavilion. Over the com­ing weeks, the Canowindra Phoenix will be hilighting some of the sections you may consider entering.

SECTION O – DAIRY, FRUIT AND GAR­DEN PRODUCE

Entries: Exhibits must be in pavilion ready for judging by 9.30am Friday of Show. Most fruit and vegetables are best picked on the same day that they will be judged, due to wilting and that they haven’t reached their full maturity. Others such as onions and pumpkins can be picked early and entered from Wednesday before show. Remember uniform size, shape and colour. Exhibits must be grown by exhibitor. Exhibits to place on white plates or white cardboard plates, unless otherwise instructed. At least one egg will be broken. Bunches or collec­tions of herbs to be displayed in clear con­tainers of water that is an appropriate size for the exhibit. All exhibits must have an entry ticket attached otherwise the exhibits will be classed out.

Categories: 1. Hen eggs ½ dozen (6) most suitable for export, brown or white 2.

Bantam eggs ½ dozen (6), 3. Turkey eggs, (4), 4. Duck eggs, goose eggs or any other not mentioned (4), 5. Navel oranges, (4), 6.

Oranges any other variety (4), 7. Lemons (4), 8. Mandarins (4), 9. Grapefruit (3), 10.

Collection of citrus fruit not less than 3 of each variety, 11. Decorative arrangement of fruit in a basket or bowl, 12. Lettuce (1), 13. Cabbage (1), 14. Cauliflower (1), 15.

Carrots any variety (3), 16. Turnips, Swede or white Parsnip any variety (3 of each), 17. Beetroot any variety (3), 18. Spinach or silver beet (6), 19. Onions any variety (3), 20. Collection of Herbs three or more named, 21. Rhubarb 1 bunch trimmed, 22.

Pumpkin, butternut (1), 23. Pumpkin Kent (Jap) (1), 24. Pumpkin any other variety (1), 25. Pumpkin largest any variety, NOT cut, 26. Collection of vege’s, no less than 6 varieties named, 27. Rhubarb, a bunch not trimmed, 28. Any vegetable not mentioned (3).

Under 12 years: 29. Bunch spinach or silver beet 6 pieces, 30. Collection of Herbs 3 or more varieties, 31. Any vegetable not mentioned, 32. Animal made from vegeta­bles your choice, 33. Animal made from fruit your choice.

Open or local – 12 years and above: 34. Decorative/carved fruit (1), 35. Decora­tive/carved vegetable (1), 36. Decorative arrangement of vegetables on a platter.
