Men’s Bowls

23 July, 2025 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Bowls Minor triples were completed on Saturday 19 July, congratulations to the winners Mitch, Croc and Larry.

On the weekend of 12-13 July an O’Brien Cup match was played. It was a great game with Teddy and Jamie leading the way from the more fancied team of Tony and Ben. The last two ends determined the winner, with Tony moving the Jack to pick up five shots to level the score and Ben and Tony got the shot on the last end to win the match – the great escape.

On Saturday 19 July, Dool and Crowey played the semifinal of the major singles.

Dool played his best game in defeating Crowey 26/15. Crowey tried hard and Dool was on fire. Thanks for Teddy marking the game.

In the triples, newcomers Bob and Kris with Cristy tested the experienced combination of Crock, Larry and Mitch. The consistency of Larry, Crock and Mitch lead to their victory. There will be more games this weekend that will be notified during the week.

Members have been lucky the last few weeks with the badge draws being won. The badge draws for this week are Wednesday $200, Friday $200 and Sunday $100.

It was a great night last Saturday and thanks all for coming along, Brad Myers was very entertaining. This Saturday is the old boys celebration and Michael Wynne will be playing in the evening.
