Donna the Astronomer will be returning to Canowindra next month to share valuable insights into our night skies.
Canowindra locals and visitors alike are in for a celestial treat this August with the return of the Star Grazing Weekend at Eddy’s of Canowindra, featuring none other than Donna the Astronomer.
Running from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August, the weekend promises a magical blend of astronomy, local culture, and delicious food. For residents of Canowindra, this is the perfect chance to experience the stars like never before — without even leaving town.
The highlight of the weekend is a special Sun Gazing Experience with Donna’s sunsafe telescope on Saturday morning from 10am to 12pm, followed by a fresh quiche and salad lunch and a visit to the iconic Age of Fishes Museum.
As the sun sets, guests will gather for the Star Grazing Italian Dinner Party at 5pm, before Donna presents her fascinating program “Saving the Night Sky One Light at a Time.”
Donna Burton OAM is one of Australia’s most passionate astronomy advocates, famous for discovering two comets and fighting to protect our dark skies. Her engaging presentation will culminate in a breathtaking stargazing session through her large telescopes.
Special packages including accommodation and meals are available for visitors, but locals are more than welcome to join just for the Saturday night dinner and stargazing experience for $65 per person — including a drink and B.Y.O options.
