Supporting Education On The Move: Canowindra High School P&c’s Community Call

Canowindra High School’s small but pas­sionate P&C committee is making a big dif­ference for local students. Made up of just three dedicated volunteers, the committee has worked tirelessly to create more op­portunities for students through affordable access to excursions, sporting events, and educational experiences beyond the class­room.

In 2024, thanks to years of saving, gener­ous community donations, and a grant, the P&C proudly purchased a school bus. This invaluable resource is already helping re­duce the burden on families, enabling more students to attend events such as career open days in Cowra and Orange.

However, there is one final piece to com­plete the project — getting the bus profes­sionally wrapped for school identification, safety, and community engagement. The cost of this final step is $2,000, and the P&C is now calling on the Canowindra communi­ty, local businesses, and individuals to help them cross the finish line.

This bus isn’t just a vehicle — it’s a gate­way to opportunity. Whether it’s represent­ing the school at sporting events or explor­ing future careers, every kilometre travelled means greater educational access for stu­dents.
