CHS students wore blue last Friday in support of Do It For Dolly Day.
Do It For Dolly: Last Friday, Canowindra High School proudly came together to celebrate Do It For Dolly Day, a special day dedicated to spreading kindness, raising awareness about the devastating impact of bullying, and promoting safe and inclusive communities. Students and staff wore blue in support of Dolly’s message, participated in activities that encouraged empathy and compassion, and reflected on the importance of standing up for others. Lucas and Patrick from Headspace Cowra also delivered a powerful presentation about the importance of kindness, the lasting effects of bullying, and how we can all play a role in creating a safer world.
TSRs Off Limits For Firewood: As the weather cools, Local Land Services are reminding the community that collecting firewood from Travelling Stock Reserves (TSR) is illegal. Fallen logs and standing dead wood provide critical habitat for a wide range of species and need to be left in place in the natural environment. Decaying timber and leaf litter are also important in the process of nutrient recycling back into the soil. Fines of up to $5,500 can apply to people caught carrying out illegal activity on TSRs under the Local Land Services Act 2013. You can report any illegal activity to Local Land Services on 1300 795 299, or to your local police station on 131 444.
