Community And Sponsorship At The Heart Of Canowindra Balloon Festival’s Success

The 2025 Canowindra Balloon Festival was an overwhelming success, once again ce­menting its place as one of Australia’s most anticipated events. Behind the colourful skies, vibrant community gatherings, and lively entertainment lies the essential sup­port of generous sponsors, local business­es, and the Balloon volunteer committee who make the week-long festival possible.

A major contributor each year is the Canowindra Services Club, which gener­ously provides $20,000 in sponsorship to help deliver the event in its current form.

Their ongoing commitment ensures the Festival remains a highlight on the region­al calendar. Over the past six year’s the Canowindra Services Club has support­ed the Balloon Week with this injection of funding. Equally vital is Cabonne Council, which also contributes $20,000 for naming rights—an investment that reflects the Fes­tival’s significance as the largest community celebration in Cabonne each year.

Many local businesses also play key roles through donations and in-kind support.

The Canowindra Hotel, Tommy Jeffs and Montrose House, Roundbox Media, The Canowindra Phoenix, Central West Building Services, Topps Products Australia, Fire­brand Mechanical and Lawrence’s IGA are just a few of the valued contributors whose involvement has a lasting impact on the event’s success.

A special addition to this year’s Festival was the enthusiastic team of 25 volunteers from the University of Technology Sydney’s Big Lift program. These young adults brought energy and dedication to key events includ­ing the Street Parade, CWA Breakfast, and the Cabonne Community Glow.

Gratitude also goes to the Canowindra Hotel for generously providing accommoda­tion and meals for the student volunteers, demonstrating once again how the spirit of community is at the heart of everything the Festival represents.

Without this incredible collective support, the work of the volunteers who donate their time and plan 12 months in advance for the following year, the Canowindra Balloon Fes­tival simply wouldn’t be what it is today.
