In the in the Tigeresses game the girls put up a great performance, only having the bare numbers, with players away at concerts and magic round. The Tigeresses lead for much of the game but were reduced to one man short after an injury to one of their players. Trundle applied the pressure with some nice play and some very quick girls hitting holes, putting pressure on their defense. With fatigue setting in the Trundle league tag side fought their way back with two quality tries to even the score and had the chance to go to the lead, but the conversion hit the upright to leave the score at 16 all. It was good to see Alicia Earsman back and she was rewarded three points and players player for the day.
The First Grade Tigers started well, running two tries to Ky O’Byrne in the 11th and 15th minute. Trundle hit back in the 19th and 22nd minute with two tries to close the gap to 14-10.
Tigers hit back with a try from a smart backline move for Burn to put Deegy Marina in under the post for a 20-10 lead. A late penalty kick brought the half time score to 22-10.
It was all Trundle in the first 20 minutes of the second half, scoring a converted try, taking the score to 22-16. The Tigers hit back with a try to Shy Marina to lead 28-16.
Canowindra making too many errors in their own half resulted in Trundle running in two tires to lock up the scores at 28 all. A penalty to Trundle saw them hit the lead 30-28 with 9 minutes remaining but a failed kick off gave Trundle a chance to seal the game which they did, scoring out wide which was converted to lead 36-28. With just five minutes on the clock, there was a small glimpse of victory with Shy Marina scoring under the sticks. They didn’t take the kick, hoping for a restart but the clock denied them a chance leaving the score at 32-36.
The Juniors had a loss to a strong Blayney side giving up big lead early but fought back but went down 42-16.
